Emergency
Services
Saint
Clare's Emergency Services provide emergency medical services 24
hours a day, 7 days at week at our hospitals in Denville, Dover and
Sussex. Board-certified physicians and specially trained nurses treat
thousands of adults and children every year for a wide variety of
illnesses and injuries. Fast-track areas ensure that patients are
directed to the proper treatment area so they can be seen quickly.
The Evelyn M. Spiro Pediatric Emergency Care Center, located at
Saint
Clare’s Hospital/Denville, serves the special needs of
children and was the first emergency center in the region dedicated
to youngsters. Children receive treatment in an area separate from
the traditional emergency room. The Center has medical equipment
specially designed for kids and physicians and nurses trained to
handle children's medical emergencies.
Extensive expansion and renovations have been made at Dover and Sussex. In Dover, construction added an additional 4,000 square feet of treatment space, decontamination facilities, a new registration area and waiting room, a new triage room and an expanded fast track area, new cardiac and trauma treatment rooms and other renovations to the current facility.
In Sussex, construction offered a new 4,000 square foot emergency department to include upgraded treatment rooms, a pediatric room, enlarged patient entry area, improved ambulance access, an upgraded trauma room, a new, dedicated cardiac trauma room and a new patient access area. Costs for this new construction in Sussex were almost entirely supported by the generosity and support of our public and private donors, corporations and civic organizations.
