In May 2005, Saint Clare’s launched “the
maternity center for the 21st Century.” The $11 million, 48,000
square-foot Katena Center for Mother and Child at Saint
Clare’s
Hospital/Denville is now open. Featuring 23 all-private mother/baby
suites, the Katena Center focuses on family-centered care while featuring
the latest medical technology, a highly specialized staff, and the
most modern facilities available.
To date, $8.5 million of the $11
million cost of the Center has been raised. It is heartening to
know that this new birthplace has been
funded almost entirely by support from our community. The Katena
Center for Mother and Child accepts donations in any amount.
 For
gifts of $1,000 or more to Saint Clare’s Foundation, you
can share the joy of baby’s arrival with a solid wood replica
of a child’s “baby block.” Individually hand-made,
the block will be personalized with your name as well as the
name and birth date of the baby. The blocks can also be inscribed
in
honor or in memory of a loved one should you so choose. Contact the Foundation

allow the Center to reach its $11 million goal and ensure that
Saint Clare’s can provide
the region with the highest levels of care for mothers, newborns,
and the entire family.
